The success of Man City

Over the last few years, Manchester City have been a leading light for football teams in the UK. With manager Pep Guardiola in charge, they have won four of the last five Premier League titles by playing a thrilling and dynamic brand of football. They are the only team in Premier League history to break the 100-point barrier - achieved in the 2017/2018 season.

Man City have created historic Premier League memories in recent years- twice on the final day of the season, they have come from behind to win the title in the final stages of a game. Who can forget “Aguerooooo” in 2012 - his last-minute goal against QPR tops many polls as the most dramatic Premier League moment. Last season, Ilkay Gündogan's 3-2 goal sealed the turnaround against Aston Villa that gave City the title in the last game of the season.

Since 2010, Man City has also been very successful in the domestic cups with two FA Cup titles and as many as six League Cup triumphs.

They have a successful women’s team too - in seven of their last eight seasons, Man City Women have finished in the top three, and were Women’s Super League Champions in 2016. They have also won the FA Cup on three occasions and the Continental League Cup four times, most recently during the 2021/22 season.
